I Stand Alone

I Stand Alone

One of the best things about Gina returning to school for horticulture was where she took her classes, the Chicago Botanic Gardens. I would volunteer to drive her as much as possible and I could roam the grounds in the evenings. While she studied the plants, I did my own studying. This is one such study. Against a field of yellow this pink polka-dot, individual made a stand.

Weep For Me

Canvas Art

I grew up in Clarendon Hills, IL. Which basically is a bog, or at least it was a bog. One of the main features of Prospect Park was the beautiful willow trees. Although this is not a picture of one of those from my childhood, I believe that this willow from the Chicago Botanic Garden captures my memories of these majestic trees. Think about it they are found right next to a water source. Location, location, location! It always amazes me that these trees do not just fall into the water. This one also captures the weeping of the weeping willow.
